This magnificent European tour combines some of the best tourist hotspots Holland, Germany and Belgium have to offer. From our base in the Dutch town of Valkenburg we explore the majestic cities of Brussels, Cologne and Maastricht. In the evenings you can relax in your hotel with the added bonus of a nightly three hour free bar*.
Holiday itinerary
Day one - We head to Hull for an overnight ferry to the Continent. Dinner and Breakfast are included on the ferry and accommodation is provided in twin inside low-berth cabins. (Sole occupancy cabins available for a supplement).
Day two - After a good night’s sleep, we make our way to Valkenburg city centre with time to explore before we check into Hotel Walram located on the edge of the city centre.
Day three - We travel to Brussels which is quickly gaining a reputation as one of Europe’s must-see destinations, with its small town charm, trendy bars and restaurants, fabulous food, fantastic shopping and numerous museums. Attractions include the Cathedral of Saints Michael and Gudula, the gothic style Town Hall and the Grand Palace offering a unique mix of beautiful 17th century architecture and modern social life.
Day four - A free day to explore Valkenburg. Public transport is located just twenty metres from the hotel. Valkenburg has been described as Holland’s hidden gem and attractions include the castle ruins, caves, marblestone caverns, underground railway, museums and forests.
Day five - Full day to Cologne where the cathedral spires tower over Germany’s oldest city. The city has an abundance of cultural and historical treasures, world-famous museums and active art scene. Take a trip through 2000 years of history and visit cultural monuments from the Roman Empire to modern times.
Day six - Morning in Maastricht which attracts over 3 million tourists to the city. Explore the canals, walk through the inner city and eat one of Limurg’s famous pies. Or maybe have a look inside the Saint Peter’s Church or visit the limestone mines, Maastricht has a lot to offer. In the afternoon we travel to the overnight ferry sailing to Hull. Dinner and breakfast are included on the ferry and accommodation is provided in twin inside low-berth cabins.
Day seven - After breakfast on the ferry, we head back up to Scotland. When you get off the coach, your car will be waiting to take you back home - all part of the Eclipse Door to Door Service.
