Excursions
Isle of Skye
After an early breakfast we travel by road, passing the famous Eilean Donan Castle and over the Skye Bridge to spend the day in the island capital of Portree. Surrounded by high ground and cliffs, Portree is known for its colourful fishing harbour. The main town lies behind the harbour, with the main focus being Somerled Square, home to the Mercat Cross and war memorial. Portree is charming to wander around and offers a range of interesting speciality shops. Please note, this will be a long but very worthwhile day.
Loch Maree
Often referred to as the most beautiful loch in the highlands, Loch Maree contains a group of scattered islands, making for dramatic scenery.
Ullapool
A great day out taking in beautiful Ullapool, famous for the colourful fishing boats on the harbour. A destination in its own right for nature, hillwalking, outdoor activities, music, arts, food and drink, festivals, history and Highland culture.
