Islands, islands and more islands – this unique cruise will take you far from the tourist trail and to some of the undiscovered gems of the British Isles. Your itinerary will embrace Belfast, which has undergone a remarkable transformation; Tobermory in the Isle of Mull, famous for its picture-postcard pastel-coloured houses; and Stornoway in the Isle of Lewis, where time seems to have stood still. We will then visit Scrabster, close to the mainland’s most northerly point John O’Groats, before setting sail for Lerwick in the tranquil Shetland Islands and finally Douglas, capital of the spectacular Isle of Man, home to steam trains, tailless cats and incredible four-horned Loaghtan sheep. This eight night cruise sails from and returns to Liverpool. We have six ports of call and visit two countries.
HOLIDAY ITINERARY
Day 1: Our coach heads to Liverpool to join the Ambition Cruise Ship. There will be time to settle in before dinner and evening entertainment.
Day 2: Our ship arrives in Belfast, Northern Ireland's capital, revealing a vibrant cityscape interwoven with history. From the old docklands of the Titanic Quarter to dynamic neighbourhoods filled with mural art, Belfast offers endless opportunities to explore.
Day 3: Arrive to the picturesque charm of Tobermory, Isle of Mull, with its colourful waterfront and quaint charm. Explore historic sites like the iconic Tobermory Distillery, take scenic walks along the coast, and indulge in fresh seafood at local restaurants. Experience some quiet moments of wonder along Scotland's west coast.
Day 4: Spend a day discovering the rugged beauty and rich Gaelic heritage of Stornoway. Explore historical attractions like the Lewis Chessmen, delve into the island's unique culture, and experience the warm hospitality of the Outer Hebrides.
Day 5: Resting on Scotland's rugged northern coast, Scrabster exudes a rich maritime history and the mystery of the Highlands. Explore the rugged beauty of nearby Dunnet Head, savour fresh seafood at Scrabster Harbour, and witness stunning views of the Pentland Firth from Holburn Head Lighthouse.
Day 6: We arrive in Lerwick, nestled in the Shetland Isles, whispers tales of Vikings and Scottish history. Take leisurely walks through its winding streets, learn the history of lighthouse-keeping at Bressay Lighthouse, and breathe in the salty North Atlantic breezes atop the Knab promontory.
Day 7: Enjoy a day at sea. These days are the perfect opportunity to explore the ship, relax and unwind and spend quality time with those around you. Whether you pamper yourself in the Green Sea Spa, experience all the outstanding cuisine we have onboard, enjoy our amazing entertainment in the Palladium and other venues, attend a class or talk or play games with friends or family, there’s something for everyone.
Days 8: A day visiting Historic Douglas on the Isle of Man offers a relaxing experience for new and returning visitors alike. Stroll along the famous seaside promenade for views of cultural sites like the Tower of Refuge, an historic sanctuary for shipwrecked sailors.
Day 9: Ambition arrives back in Liverpool where your coach will meet you to take you back to Scotland and our Door to Door* service can take you to your home.
